CIU provides coaching for professional artists who face different challenges in the working world. As the number of professionals has greatly increased, so the level of competition and professionalism has increased. Because of this, permanent posts within an organization are hard to come by, and so typically the only option is to work as a freelancer and/or entrepreneur. In order to survive and to succeed, individuals have to know many aspects of business, other than their respective practice, such as, marketing, managing, pricing, selling, and maintaining a business. The majority of arts education programs do not prepare or equip people for these challenges.
